Trainer profile
I am passionate about propelling individuals to success by supporting them to look within, and to lead from where they stand. I believe leadership in every capacity is about building relationships and taking action. Coaching is a catalyst for change and I foster a collaborative partnership with clients to support the achievement of extraordinary results. I have a creative, supportive and inclusive style and a practical, results-driven approach. If you can imagine it, I will work with you to help you achieve it.
My formal educational includes a Bachelor of General studies with a major in Education, a Certificate of Advanced Management, a Master of Arts in Leadership and Training and a Certificate in Executive Coaching from Royal Roads University. I am a life-long learner who is currently a student at Athabasca University studying a Doctorate of Education in Distributed Learning and Leadership, specializing in personal mastery in young women. I regularly participate in learning opportunities, staying abreast of the current research and how it integrates into practice.
I have worked in public and private learning institutions, government, as well as a large health organization in various positions including my current roles; 1) Principal of Aspiring Leadership Inc. and 2) Manager of Child, Youth and Family Health in Vancouver Island Health Authority. I am trained and experienced in leadership, organizational development, change management and my passion is personal mastery in context to it all. I am the author of Journey to the Heart of Young Leaders: Personal Mastery in Girls a leadership curriculum that is currently used in Independent Girls Schools in Canada, Unites States, Germany, Australia and Argentina.
As a professional, maximizing a coach approach, I support individuals to stretch outside their comfort zone for positive growth and performance. Drawing on my enthusiasm for propelling others, I invite individuals to excel through intentional listening, powerful questioning, insightful feedback and commitment to action. One of my favorite sayings is, “Dream big, apply strategically, reflect intentionally and celebrate collectively.”
