Another way to think about this would be to think about having an energy budget each day. Let’s call the currency e-dollars for energy dollars. Imagine you only have one hundred energy dollars to use every day in your budget. How are you spending those now? Let’s take a look at a typical energy budget. This was a budget done for Liza who is a 36-year-old account manager for an advertising company. The circumstances may be different for each of us but it’s probably safe to say the deficit is the same or greater for most of us at the end of the day. It’s part of our culture to be poor financial managers of our e-dollars. It’s customary and accepted to have a deficit and it’s often rewarded with admiration and approval for being such a hard and dedicated worker!
