Worry people often look for the possibility of some sort of problem or catastrophe in any given situation and once they have captured that potential scenario they let the worry play in the background of all they do. This energy source creates a high degree of friction and gives a super blast of short term, costly adrenaline. Again, we are not suggesting that many of us don’t have very real things to worry about and prepare for. We are talking about using worry adrenaline energy at the expense of our joy, freedom, creativity, or anything else that is most important to us. It interferes with us becoming congruent with the person we choose to be and keeps us from expressing our core-essential values. Some things others may say about worry people: • I don’t know why she always feels as if she should be doing more. She does more than everyone on the team combined! • Things are going so smoothly. I don’t know why he feels this is going to end abruptly. He is already working on an exit strategy for the contract! • We tried to get her to see the logic in making an exception to policy for this particular instance, but you know her. By the book, no matter what! • No one can ever say she doesn’t keep a clean house! You can eat off the floors! She spends her entire weekends cleaning and an hour after work every day! • We’ll have to tell him well in advance. We have so much to look forward to, but she is only looking towards the possible problems we may have along the way. • I guess he doesn’t have to worry about job security. He was 37% over quota for the past four months. It’s a shame though. Seems his marriage is on the rocks because of the hours he’s been putting in. • She has always wanted to go to Italy, but she said she won’t be going with us since she would have to use some of her savings for the trip. She always turns down what she wants because she doesn’t want to use any of her savings. I think she must have the first dollar she ever made since I never see her spend any of the money, she makes on herself! • I don’t know why he was afraid to tell me about it. He thought I was going to take his head off I guess. Once again, many of us have plenty to worry about in our lives, but when you think
