106 P E R S ON A L G R OU N DWO R K F O R C OAC H I N G about it, how effective is worry? Have you ever been helped by worrying about something? Worry seems pretty pointless when you think about the value it provides. Really, when you think of it, the only value worry brings is costly adrenaline energy. Using the following worksheets, see if you can create a strategy to shift to a new energy source when you find yourself using these more costly energy sources. DOMINANT ENERGY SOURCE INDEX Answer each question YES (Y) or NO (N). When you have answered all the questions in each section, tally your final score by scoring 5 points for each question you answered YES. After going through and scoring all four sections see which section you scored the highest in. This may be your Dominant Energy Source. For another view of yourself, ask one or more people close to you to answer the questions about you. BUSY Y  N  Do you overpromise results, even a little bit, and then cram to deliver those results? Y  N  Are you usually running late or just on time? Y  N  Do you wait until the last possible minute to do things and then get it all done in a panic? Y  N  Do you often have a lot of unfinished business and things hanging in the air? Y  N  Do you drive, walk, and do most things really fast and get impatient or irritated with others for not moving at the same speed? Y  N  Do you feel like you are “on” all the time? Y  N  Are you on the go all the time but feel you are not accomplishing much? Y  N  Does the thought of doing nothing make you uncomfortable? Y  N  Do you create self-imposed deadlines and incredibly high standards for yourself? Y  N  Do you usually have a multitude of things in your mind and feel distracted by all of them? Total
