Cheryl’s vision of an amazing workplace includes every team member using a coach approach to lead from where they are. She is passionate about leadership, learning, engagement, and development. Cheryl values authentic interactions that honour individuals’ lived experiences and believes in empowering others to explore, appreciate, and develop their own strengths as they work toward living their dreams.
Cheryl holds an MA (Leadership) from the University of Guelph, a graduate certificate in Human Resources Management from Durham College, and a BA (Social Development Studies) from the University of Waterloo. She has expertise in leadership, organizational and career development, recruiting, and case management over sixteen years in the public sector. She has also supported athletes in achieving their goals in a volunteer and professional coach capacity for over 20 years.
Cheryl is accredited as an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) through the International Coach Federation and is a member of the Nova Scotia Career Development Association. She has been a Licensed Trainer of the 5.5.5 Coaching Skills Training Program™ since 2019 and is also a certified Diversity Coach (Coaching out of the Box), LEADS Coach, and Facilitator and in EQ-i 2.0 / EQ 360.
Coaching is Cheryl’s absolute favorite part of her work. She is inspired by those she coaches, loves to see people learn more about themselves and grow in the process, and is excited to support those who wish to gain coaching skills.
