Once you have developed coaching skills there is another opportunity to leverage your coaching skills. You can also become a coaching educator or trainer.
Regardless of where you are today, it is important to expand your view of coaching. Don’t pigeon hole yourself or become stuck in a rut. Look at all the ways you can leverage the tremendous skills you have already developed. Here are just a couple ideas for starters.
- Becoming a coaching educator or trainer can be done inside an organization. If you work in, or want to work in, HR, corporate development, the training department – by becoming a coaching educator you will develop skills in training as well as coaching. Most organizations have many opportunities for trainers. You can conduct the training, be involved in hiring trainers, assessing results of training etc.
- Another opportunity is if you have your own coaching practice. As an educator or trainer, you can work with organizations to train their managers and leaders rather than do the coaching yourself. This is a great add-on to an existing coaching practice adding value to your clients, expanding your reach and marketability and opening another source of revenue.
