That is trickier than you think. To do well, you need to “know” the competencies and integrate them into how you think and approach situations.
For this reason, we have pulled together a learning experience to remind you of what you already know and share with you things you may not know yet.

How the competencies have been validated
In this next segment, Elias talks about how the original competencies published in 1998 have been validated and refined in 2021.
The ICF Core Competencies were originally created in 1998, consisting of 11 Core Competencies. In November 2019, ICF released an updated version of the competencies. The updated Core Competencies were integrated into ICF-Accredited Coach Education Programs curricula beginning in January 2021. As of August 1, 2022, the updated Core Competencies were integrated into the Credentialing Performance Evaluation and written exam requirements.
For the sake of your learning, all you need to focus on is the 2021 eight competencies. The videos, however, will make reference to the original competencies, and through the dialogue you will learn vital information and concepts needed to be embedded into your coaching interactions and style.
