The Role of Mindfulness in Executive and Business Coaching:

"There is no wasted time, we are exactly where we need to be in this moment and we were exactly where we needed to be in our past moments"

Lenore emphasizes the importance of every experience, including those moments where we worry that we are wasting our time, actually contribute to our successes. "Maybe we need to reframe that see that it's exactly the pause we need in that moment".

The pause allows us to take "some stillness and hybernate so that we can regroup and re-energize". Lenore extends this idea to the things we think of as our mistakes. "If we've learned, they are not wasted moments, either". This type of thinking can cause a person to think that they are short on skill-set without giving themselves enough credit for all the things we've done and experienced.

These moments build upon each other and accumulate.

Reframing is a Terrific Mindfullness Skill Used for Coaching Big Pivots

Lenore discusses the use of subtle mindfulness techniques in coaching, especially with high-achieving individuals resistant to slowing down. She highlights the power of taking a pause and being intentional, aligning mindfulness principles with coaching competencies like evoking awareness.

Lenore recounts her major career pivot from a successful executive to a coach. Inspired by friends who recognized her coaching abilities, Lenore initially viewed coaching as an additional tool for her toolbox. However, as she delved into coaching and mindfulness training, she discovered her passion and made a full-time pivot into coaching.

Lenore shares her wisdom for coaches, emphasizing the importance of trusting and believing in oneself during pivotal moments. She encourages coaches to ask, "Why not me?" and believes that self-trust is crucial when navigating career pivots and uncertainties.

Lenore envisions more speaking opportunities and panel discussions on topics like human connection in the workplace. She sees these experiences as part of the ongoing evolution of her coaching journey.

The Takeaway:

Lenore encourages coaches to embrace every moment, take intentional pauses for self-reflection, and trust themselves wholeheartedly, especially during pivotal career transitions, fostering a path of continuous growth and personal evolution.
