A professional coach is expected to follow and uphold each of the twenty-eight standards and many of them apply to your conduct outside of coaching.
The question what is the best way for you to learn and integrate these standards into your practice and who you are as a person?
Here is what we have provided for you in the following lessons, how you navigate through them will be up to you. Know that you will be expected to gain an 80% or higher in the final exam.
We have grouped the standards into “like” themes. Each group contains the following learning materials:
- A copy of the ICF Code of Ethics to download.
- A copy of the exact Standards as listed in the ICF Code of Conduct.
- A simplified summary of the standards.
- A PRE-QUIZ of 3 to 5 questions to test your initial understanding of the standards. 100% is required to pass each pre-test. Anything less than 100% we strongly suggest you watch the video for that standard.
- The Details of Standards under each grouping contains a video produced by the ICF describing the intention and details of each standard in the group.
FINAL EXAM
At the end of the standards sections is a final quiz to test and validate your understanding of the entire code of ethics. An 80% is required to pass. The questions will vary from asking you to recall the description of the standard to deciding how the standard applies to a given situation and finally how to apply a series of connected standards to real-life coaching situations.
