UPLOAD Recordings

Double Check Your Submission

In the “Is Your Recording Ready?” module we covered four filters:

First filter. Does it pass the ICF guidance test?

  1. “The performance evaluation must be from an actual coaching session between you and a paid or pro bono client (not part of your coaching education).”
  2. The client may not be a coach unless they are a regular client. A regular client is an individual who has come to you for coaching and for no other reason.
  3. The recording was not used for a 1:1 mentoring session as part of the coaching education.

Second filter. Is this recording a minimum of 20 minutes, ideally 30 minutes in duration?  The assessors will not listen past the 45-minute mark.

Third filter. Listen the complete recording to identify that you have a solid structure. One that looks similar to this:

  1. Identify – Coaching Agreement, Clear client outcomes
  2. Discover – Explore with the client
  3. Strategize – Set actions
  4. Clear the Way – Explore barriers
  5. Recap – Set accountability

Fourth filter. Ensure it meets the ICF Minimum Skill Requirements for ACC

Note: This is the final step. There are no more checks or re-tries. If your recording does not meet or exceed the filters above or the file format below, you will receive a FAIL status on your Performance Evaluation. We want you to PASS.

UPLOAD Recording

Upload Your Final Recording file.

Use this section to upload your AUDIO file to our ICF Assessors to conduct your formal Performance and Evaluation.

IMPORTANT: You must ONLY submit an AUDIO file. Not a VIDEO. An audio file typically ends in MP3, WAV, MP4, M4A, OGG.  If you file is a video, then you need to strip the audio portion off the video.  A free and simple service to that is located at https://online-audio-converter.com/

Things to check before you upload your file to us.

  • The recording must be at least 20 minutes in length and not exceeding 30 minutes. Anything recorded after the 45-minute mark will not be assessed.
  • The recording must be an audio only file (no video/pictures).
  • The following file types are acceptable: MP3, WMA, MP4 or M4A (audio) format. Other formats will not be accepted.
  • The audio file must be in one part. Multiple files for one coaching session will not be reviewed.
  • The audio file must be 95 megabytes (MB) or less. Use a lower bit rate to decrease file size, if needed or see guidance in previous section.
  • You must upload the actual audio file. Providing a URL to download or stream audio recordings will not be accepted.
  • When naming your file, ensure that you use only letters and numbers. Please be sure there are no special characters in your document name (? / | \ ! @ # = $ % +) in order to avoid issues when uploading your file.

What Happens Next?

Your files are now being reviewed to ensure we have all we need and in the format we can use.

Next steps
  1. Your 3 files will be sent to one of our ICF Assessors to evaluate your recording.
  2. Then it’s a bit of a wait for you.  Give us up to four weeks to respond back to you.
  3. You will know the assessor has done their work by the 1 APPROVED indicator to the top right of the Assignments block above.
  4. You then can expect an email with your results and the assessors form with feedback.
  5. Once approved, you may continue on with the course and the next lesson.

Please be patient, we are working on your behalf as quickly and accurately as we can.
