Celebrating 10 Years of Bold Coaching with Sarah Uchytil, PCC
In this episode, Jen Anderson, MCC, welcomes Sarah Uchytil, PCC, to celebrate a significant milestone: 10 years since Sarah transitioned from her corporate career to becoming a full-time coach. Sarah reflects on her journey, the lessons learned along the way, and how she has built a thriving and diverse coaching business that continues to inspire others.
Discovering Coaching: A Life-Changing Journey
Sarah’s introduction to coaching came in 2007 while working as a finance manager at Sprint. Feeling stuck on the “corporate treadmill” and constantly drained, she sought advice from a colleague, who introduced her to the concept of life coaching. This revelation ignited a desire in Sarah to explore coaching for herself. Working with her own coach not only transformed her personal and professional life but also inspired her to begin her coaching education and eventually share this gift with others.
The Leap from Corporate to Coaching
In 2014, Sarah made the courageous decision to leave her corporate role and pursue coaching full-time, taking a voluntary separation package from Sprint. Reflecting on this bold move, Sarah emphasizes the importance of asking yourself, “What would you do if you weren’t afraid?” This mindset helped her embrace the unknown and launch a career built on passion and purpose.
Building a Diverse and Inspired Coaching Business
Sarah’s coaching practice is anything but traditional. Over the past decade, she has crafted a unique approach that blends leadership coaching, career transitions, mindfulness, yoga, and wellness retreats. From hosting 40 wellness retreats to creating award-winning blogs, Sarah has found a way to integrate her creativity into her business. Her ability to “swim in many lanes” keeps her work fresh, fulfilling, and impactful.
Keys to Success: Patience, Persistence, and Purpose
One of Sarah’s biggest lessons in building her business is the power of consistency and adaptability. She highlights how writing regular blogs, repurposing content for social media, and maintaining strong SEO practices have helped her reach clients in meaningful ways. Balancing patience with persistence has been key to her success, as she nurtures relationships with potential clients while continuing to innovate and grow.
Looking Ahead: Big Goals and New Horizons
As Sarah reflects on her 10-year journey, she also looks to the future with excitement and ambition. Her next goals include achieving her MCC certification, writing a book, and organizing international retreats. She encourages coaches to embrace their dreams, take bold steps, and focus on how they can authentically serve others, reminding us all that the world needs more lightworkers to share their gifts.
