What is Impactful Conversations?+
Impactful Conversations is a leadership communication program that helps managers conduct conversations that create clarity, ownership, accountability, and action. Participants learn when to provide direction and clarity, and when to use coaching-based skills that build awareness and engagement. It's delivered live and in person by our own PCC- or MCC-certified coaches, not a licensed facilitator working from a script.
How is this different from typical manager-as-coach training?+
Most manager-as-coach programs teach one move: ask more questions. Impactful Conversations takes a broader approach, teaching leaders when to tell and when to ask. Telling establishes clarity, expectations, and standards. Asking builds ownership, engagement, and learning. Your managers learn to move intentionally between the two, not default to one.
What does an engagement actually look like?+
Sessions are delivered live and in person to your team, built on the 5-Step Coaching Exchange and the Manager-Coach Dance®. Every session is led directly by one of our own PCC- or MCC-certified coaches. We typically start with a short conversation to understand where your managers are struggling most, then scope what a pilot cohort could look like for your organization.
Is the program customized for our industry?+
Yes. While the underlying framework stays consistent, we tailor the framing and examples to the pressures your managers actually face, whether that's turnover on a contact center floor, burnout in a healthcare setting, or a first-time manager crisis at a fast-scaling company.
Do participants earn SHRM credit for this program?+
Yes. Coaching Out of the Box® is a SHRM Recertification Provider, and Impactful Conversations qualifies for SHRM recertification credit. The exact number of credit hours depends on the scope of your engagement, we'll confirm the specific figure for your organization when we scope your program.
What's the minimum group size?+
