You have reached your final step towards obtaining an ICF Credential

You’ve reached the final step in your coaching journey — and we’re so proud of how far you’ve come.

This module was created to guide you through the last stretch of the ICF Credential process. Inside, you’ll find everything you need: support to complete your application, refresh your understanding of the ICF Core Competencies, prepare for the exam, and navigate your performance recording with confidence.

Path A – Apply First

The traditional pathway is first:

  1. Apply for your ICF Credential.
  2. Get a date from the ICF to write their exam.
  3. Prepare to write the exam by refreshing your knowledge of the ICF Competencies and completing the ACC Exam Prep course.

Application Readiness Checklist

Each item is required to be completed and TRUE before you are ready to submit your application:

  • I completed at least 100 client coaching experience hours and:
    • All were completed following the start of my coach-specific education
    • At least 75 hours are paid
    • At least 25 hours occurred within the 18 months prior to submitting this ACC application
    • The client hours are from at least 8 different clients
  • I have received my Level 1 Completion Certificate from my coaching school awarding at least 60 hours of coach-specific education
  • I have received my student transcript (or equivalent) from my coaching school that defines:
    • The initial start date of my ICF accredited coach-specific education program
    • Dates and name of the ICF Credentialed Mentor-Coach leading at least 7 hours of group mentor coaching
    • Dates and name of the ICF Credentialed Mentor-Coach providing a minimum of three one-to-one mentor-coach hours

Alternatively you may use the time to prep for the exam and apply once you are fully ready.

  1. Prepare to write the exam by refreshing your knowledge of the ICF Competencies and completing the ACC Exam Prep course.
  2. Apply for your ICF Credential.
  3. Get a date from the ICF to write their exam.
