Coaching is not just about “doing” the skills (the “What”) and following a process (the “How”). An equal partner in the art of coaching is “WHO” you are being as you are coaching.
The “mindset” of the coach makes the fundamental shift from being that person who just dispenses advice into being a true catalyst for the growth and transformation of others.
How you think as a coach, what you believe as a coach, and how you “show up” as a coach is in fact the whole key to your clients’ success and ultimately yours.

Learning Objectives
- Understand the Foundations of a Coaching Mindset:
Develop an understanding of what it means to have a Coaching Mindset, including openness, curiosity, emotional resilience, and flexibility, as outlined in ICF Core Competency 2. - Cultivate Self-Awareness and Manage Personal Dynamics:
Identify and reflect on personal triggers, biases, and emotional patterns that may impact coaching effectiveness, and develop strategies to maintain presence and neutrality in coaching sessions. - Demonstrate the Ability to Stay Present and Flexible:
Foster the practice of maintaining a full presence during coaching interactions, adapting to shifts in the client’s emotions, focus, and needs while fostering trust and connection. - Enhance Curiosity and Non-Judgment in Coaching Interactions:
Strengthen the ability to approach clients with genuine curiosity and an open mind, avoiding assumptions or judgments, and creating a safe space for client exploration and growth. - Integrate and Apply the Coaching Mindset in Practice:
Synthesize learnings to develop an actionable plan to adopt the Coaching Mindset consistently in coaching practices, ensuring alignment with the ICF Core Competencies.
