Barbara Friesen

Barb is passionate about creating the space for people to develop themselves in their own unique way. Barb brings integrity, passion and purpose to her work and to her coaching sessions that supports individuals to explore possibilities and create transformational change.  Barb achieves results through the power of individual reflection, learning, and accountability to action.

Barb has held various leadership positions in Fraser Health and currently manages the practice transition program for nurses as well as leading Fraser Health’s foundational mentorship program.  She provides consultation and coaching to nurses in transition.  She is a trained educator, facilitator, executive coach, and systems therapist.

Barb’s professional training is as a Registered Nurse , MA in Leadership Health, and Certified Executive Coach certificate both from Royal Roads University. Barb is also a certified trainer of Coaching Out of the Box.  She is a trained systems therapist and maintained a counselling practice for many years. She is a member of the International Coaching Federation.

Barb’s commitment to her clients is a firm commitment to making a life altering impact in the lives of the people she serves and an unshakeable belief that her clients have the inner resources to shape and realize their own bold future.

 Barb is a believer in lifelong learning and the importance of stretching ourselves in order to provide the needed edge to assist others to grow.

Recreationally, she is an avid hiker, snowshoer, runner, and yogi. She loves the north shore mountains, the rain,  and the many running trails that zigzag the north shore.
